Angry Youths Protest Stabbing to death of Operative of Operation rainbow By STF in Barkin Ladi

Angry youths in Barkin -Ladi on Monday blocked the Barkin Ladi Mangu Road in Barkin Ladi local government area of Plateau state as they protested the stabbing to death of an operative of the state owned security outfit, Operation rainbow.
An eyewitness, Nanaat Timothy, who was at the scene of the incident and recounted how the unprovoked stabbing took place said the victim was stabbed by the soldier cutting his manhood.

One of the councilors in the local government, who was in the company of his other colleagues when the incident happened explained that, they made several appeals to the soldiers at the check point who insulted and physically assaulted them.
Chairman of the local government area, Emmanuel Loman described the action of the Military personnel belonging to Sector 7 who carried out the attack as unfortunate and unwarranted.
Three protesting youth sustained various degrees of injury from gun shots as security agents attempted to break up the protest.


Captain Ikedechi Iweha, Media Sspokesman STF said the special task force, said it exercised restrain using minimal force to disperse the protesting youth even after cars and other property at the sector 7 headquarters of STF in Barkin ladi were destroyed.
He appealed to the people to stay calm as the suspected personnel who carried out the attack has been arrested while a board of inquiry has been set up to investigate the matter.
As at the time of filing this report there was an uneasy calm around the local government headquarters.
