Osaretin Imahiyereobo, Deputy Director Voter education and publicity said only six parties presented their candidates and running mates for the governorship elections in Plateau state.
He said the commission also displayed the names of the candidates’ running mates and candidates for National Assembly as well as those of state Houses of Assembly at their various constituencies.
The INEC official said the personal particulars of the candidates seeking election were displayed to enable members of the public verify for themselves their age, qualifications and political parties.
According to him, Gyang Pwajok is the governorship candidate for the PDP while Gomwalk Yilji is his running mate.
For the Mega Progressive Peoples Party, MPPP, Elizabeth Samson was named as the governorship candidate while Kichime Iliya is her running mate.
Simon Lalong and Professor Sonni Tyoden were listed as the governorship candidate and running mate for the All Progressives congress while Bagudu Hirse and Nanwa Banda are candidates for the Labour Party for the governorship race.
Amuma Arin Agudu and BAla Abdullahi are governorship candidate and running mate for the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
According to INEC, Sabiu Ibrahim of the African Democratic Congress ADC has no running mate presented for the election.
Section 31 Subsection 3 of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) provides for publication of personal particulars of all candidates contesting in 2015 general elections within seven days of the receipt of form CF 001.
