PLATEAU MARKS 40 YEARS OF EXISTENCE WITH PRAYER AND FASTING

Plateau state governor, Simon Lalong has declared the 3rd of February every year as Plateau Prayer Day.
The governor made the declaration at a special prayer and fasting service to commemorate forty years of existence of Plateau state.
The governor said while other states created on the same day with Plateau state in 1976 chose to have an elaborate celebration, the state choose to seek the face of God in a place of prayer and thanksgiving.
Guest speaker and Chaplain Plateau state government house Reverend Father David Ajang said the number forty is significant as it marks a peroid of testing, trial and probation. He urged the people of the state to unite and achieve greatness.
The event also featured scriptural reading taken by the deputy governor of Plateau state Professor Sonni Tyoden, Secretary to the State government Rufus Bature as well as the wife of the governor, Regina Lalong among others.
Special prayers were offered for Plateau state just as speakers after speakers including the speaker of the Plateau state House of Assembly Peter Azi gave reasons to be thankful to God.
