Organized Labour spits fire, Threatens Jang

The organized labour in Plateau state says it cannot guarantee any harmonious industrial peace in the state if critical issues that relate to the welfare of workers are not urgently addressed.
Addressing Journalists at the NLC Secretariat in Jos, Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress in Plateau State, Jibrin Banchir outlined ten areas government need to address in order to guarantee industrial harmony in the state.
He said the nonpayment of outstanding 2012 leave transport grant, non release of promotion letters to deserving civil servants, delay and indiscriminate payments of salaries are issues of concern to the organized labour.
Jibrin Banchir also said the organized labour frowns at the non remittance of national housing fund deductions to the Federal Mortgage Bank for the past six months.
On the 2015 general election, the NLC leader said labour is watching with keen interest political activities in the state and called on workers to actively participate in the political process.
He said the next course of action by the organized labour will depend on the response by the Plateau state government to their demands.
